Characteristics of Dalbergia Odorifera (Huali Wood) and Teak Wood

A tree species of the genus Dalbergia in the Fabaceae family, characterized by small branches with dense lenticels and pinnate leaves (12–25 cm long). Its axillary panicles bear creamy-white or pale yellow flowers with nearly equal petals.

The wood is prized for its reddish-brown heartwood, which is dense, heavy, and finely grained, ideal for premium furniture. The aromatic heartwood (especially from roots) is used medicinally as an analgesic and hemostatic agent.

A large deciduous tree with quadrangular, stellate-haired branches and broad, hairy leaves. Its fragrant white flowers bloom in autumn.

Known as Myanmar’s national treasure, teak is highly durable, moisture-resistant, and exhibits a striking golden-streaked grain. It is a luxury material for furniture, flooring, and architectural decor, contributing to its exceptional value.
